I'm not quite sure when my Dad first met Ed, but it was most likely around 1951. Ed was a frequent visitor to our home in Oak Lawn, and my dad faithfully joined the Round Table downtown as one of Ed's disciples. My dad could be quite loud and boisterous at times, a real contrast to Ed. Maybe it was the difference in their personalities that drew them together, but Ed was a devoted friend. My dad was always at Ed's side, and Ed welcomed him. They were close friends until Ed's death.
